Surah An Nazi’at English Translation:
- By those who violently pull out the soul of the disbeliever,
- And gently release the soul of the believer,
- And glide swiftly,
- And are in charge of affairs,
- The Day the quaking will quake,
- And another quake will follow it.
- Some hearts, that Day, will tremble with fear and anxiety.
- Their eyes humbled.
- They are now saying, “Will we be raised back to our former state of bones?”
- Say, “Be they stones or iron
- Or any created matter that you think is greater [than that].”
- Then they will say, “Who will return us to our former state?”
- Say, “The One who created you for the first time.”
- So they will be brought back to their former state.
- But when the blast of the Horn is blown once,
- And the earth and the mountains are lifted and crushed with one blow—
- Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur.
- And the heaven will split open, for that Day it will be frail.
- And the angels will be on its edges, and above them will be eight [angels] carrying the Throne of your Lord that Day, above them.
- That Day, you will be exhibited; your weakness will be shown, and nothing about you will remain hidden.
- So as for he who is given his record in his right hand,
- He will have an easy account
- And return to his people in happiness.
- But as for he who is given his record behind his back,
- He will cry out for destruction
- And enter to burn in a Blaze.
- Indeed, he was among his people in happiness.
- Indeed, he thought he would never return [to Allah].
- No! Indeed, his Lord was, of him, Observant.
- So I swear by the twilight,
- And by the night and what it envelops,
- And by the moon when it is full,
- You will surely experience from one state to another.
- So what is [the matter] with them that they do not believe,
- And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not prostrate?
- But those who have disbelieved deny.
- And Allah is Knowing of the corruptors.
- So give tidings of a painful punishment to those who disbelieve,
- Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted.

Author’s Quotation:
“The biggest lesson you can learn from Surah An Nazi’at is that Allah is the only Supreme Power, and it talks about people following material things. Moreover, you get to know the hereafter and temporary pleasures this world is testing you with. Because these material things that people look at in their lives attract them the most. So, Allah is putting all the people to the ultimate test of pleasure or choosing the right way to Heaven, even if it doesn’t look that pretty. After reading Surah An Nazi’at, my faith has been revived, and I am happy to follow the right way of Allah because I am greedy for Heaven only.”
